Quotes from members

I have to pass on a big thank-you and congratulations to Angela and to NRCSE. She has done a wonderful job that people certainly benefitted from. She really is putting in a lot of effort to tailor her sessions to us. But also she encouraged us to pull on our own strengths, and now probably we are ready to do so. But be assured, you won’t loose us as customers!

Luljeta Nuzi, founder director of Shpresa

Devasted that Luljeta Nuzi has died after a long fight with cancer. An incredible, dynamic, fierce woman whose optimism and passion for equality for all, in education, as women, as members of refugee and global majority communities will remain an inspiration for those who met her. I first met Luljeta in 2009 when she came […]

More opportunities to engage with MoL

Visiting the Museum and At Your School sessions

We love having supplementary schools visit the museum and there are a number of sessions we have to encourage your students’ learning and stimulate their curiosity. All sessions directly link to the museum’s collection through handling objects that creatively cover a range of subjects including history, archaeology and the sciences.

For those of you who are unable to easily visit the museum then we would love to bring the museum to you through an At Your School session.

Sessions available to book can be viewed online: https://www.museumoflondon.org.uk/schools/interactive-sessions?school=250 and the following dates are available:

November – 17th, 18th, 24th and 25th

December – 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th

Please email Sarita at smamseri@museumoflondon.org.uk stating your:

  • choice of session
  • whether it’s a Museum Visit or At Your School visit
  • and two preferred dates
  • number of children

If visiting us at the museum there is financial support with travel costs: http://cityschoolvisitsfund.org.uk. I’m happy to advise further upon request.

Invitation to join Museum of London Advisory Group

The supplementary schools’ programme at the Museum of London is created for you. The reason for the programme’s continued success is because of you.

The advisory group consists of supplementary school leaders coming together 3 times a year, on a weekday evening to steer the programme’s direction. We cover topics such as teaching session and resources, professional development, projects for young people, networking and how the museum can better work with supplementary schools.

If you would like to be part of shaping the next year’s programme please drop me a line at smamseri@museumoflondon.org.uk.

Supplementary School teachers networking evening: Monday 8 December

On Monday 8 December, we will be hosting a networking evening for you to meet with other supplementary school teachers from across London and museum staff from other organisations. This will be an opportunity to share contacts and experiences and learn of new cultural opportunities for your school in an informal environment.

Light refreshments will be served.

Capacity is limited so please email me at smamseri@museumoflondon.org.uk if you would like to reserve your place.

What Supplementary Schools tell about us

I really enjoyed the way this training was held. Angela really knows a lot of things about class management – she was open to discussion and answered our questions. I would like to take part in more similar trainings. It would be useful if more community schools get involved in this type of training.
