NRCSE open training will take place at Resource for London, 356 Holloway Road, N7 6PA (two stops from King’s Cross station), unless otherwise stated.
We are very happy to deliver training in your area. By booking a training course in your own venue you can chose the time and day that suits your staff, volunteers and management committee. We can also tailor the course to your specific needs or area. The cost is £350 for a full day and £150-200 for half-day (depending on travel/tutor availability). You can have as many learners as fit in your venue and if you wish to open the training up to other supplementary schools in your area we will help you advertise.

Development and management of supplementary schools, including an introduction to quality assurance an essential course for all those setting up a supplementary school or other form of out-of-school hours provision for children.
Wednesday 12 November, 10am-3.30pm £75 per person (£35 for NRCSE members)
Safeguarding for Supplementary Schools course On 1 December 2012, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) was formed from a merger between the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). This course provides practical tools and knowledge about safeguarding, including how to access child protection training locally and how to use the Safe Network standards.
Sunday 30 November, 10am – 3.30pm £75 per person (£35 for NRCSE members)
Quality Framework Mentor Training – Day 2 This is only for those that have complete Day 1 training, please get in touch if you would like to become a Quality Framework Mentor and have NOT completed Day 1
Thursday 13 November, 10am – 4.15pm £150 per person for both days
Quality assurance for supplementary education sector A twilight session for those interested in quality assurance. This course is suitable for supplementary school managers wanting to achieve the Quality Framework but also for local authority staff, funders and others wanting to support the sector.
Wednesday 3 December, 5.30 – 7.30pm £35 per person (free for NRCSE members)

Effective lesson planning and choosing the right resources
Easy to use planning models and templates will be provided for you to adapt to your school
Special educational needs
Explore the key issues affecting young people with special educational needs (SEN). Use case studies to examine the practical implications of government legislation and SEN policies, and become equipped with practical strategies for supporting children with SEN in schools.
Recording pupils’ progress and achievement
Learn strategies and techniques that are constructive and efficient. Explore ways to monitor and record children’s progress and achievement, so that you can plan with their needs and strengths in mind.
Behaviour strategies and classroom management
Classroom management is crucial for a positive learning environment. It makes teaching and learning much more satisfying for both the teacher and the pupil. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to look closely at the various aspects of classroom management and how these can be used to foster constructive learning conditions.
Introduction to the education system in England
Learn to plan your teaching and its delivery so that it is attuned to the wider context of the education system in England and the key stages within the national curriculum. Fully updated in 2013 in line with the new curriculum.
