PRESS RELEASE
In order to maintain the credibility of the Quality Framework as a respected, national, quality mark for the community-led out-of-school education sector the NRCSE Board of Trustees today confirmed that NRCSE will split support to prepare a Supplementary School Management File from the Quality Framework.
This change is operational from 1st September 2016
Key changes
1. Support for organisations that have not previously completed any form of quality assurance is now a straight subscription offer. For a single payment of £25 subscribers gain 12 months’ access to the online code of practice quiz and templates to support the preparation of a School Management File.
2. Supplementary schools wishing to obtain or revalidate national recognition of their good practice will be able to sign up to the Quality Framework and join NRCSE as quality assured members.
a. For a payment of £55, the organisation will receive an initial school visit and validation of the Bronze Quality Framework. They will also receive the manual, How to deliver quality supplementary education. Membership includes access to discounted training and insurance.
b. Following the school visit the mentor recommends steps to complete the Silver or Gold Quality Framework Award. Further mentor support to develop good practice in teaching and learning, partnership and community engagement is available:
i. free of charge from local authority mentors where these are available, or
ii. for a fee of £400 from NRCSE
c. Higher level awards are decided at a peer recognition meeting. The fee for participating in such a meeting is £75.
d. Quality Framework Awards are valid for two years from the date of award.
e. All schools with a valid Quality Framework Award are listed on the NRCSE website (unless they ask not to be listed).
