NRCSE is pleased to announce our exciting collaboration with UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) to design and deliver FREE* training for supplementary school/out-of-school settings (OOSS) managers and leaders on children’s rights. This new project is funded by the John Lyon’s Charity
As a supplementary school/OOSS manager, you will be given an opportunity to join 2 online workshops by Martin Russell, Senior Professional Advisor at UNICEF UK. The workshops will focus on:
WORKSHOP ONE: INTRODUCING CHILDREN’S RIGHTS
You will:
- Hear about UNICEF and it’s work for children globally and in the UK
- Learn about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
- Explore why rights are important
- Understand the potential impact of adopting a child rights based approach to your work
WORKSHOP TWO: APPLYING A CHILD RIGHTS APPROACH IN SUPPLEMENTARY SCHOOL SETTINGS
You will:
- Consider how your existing work with children links to their rights
- Look at ways of linking your management and polices to the Convention
- Share ideas for teaching and learning about rights in your setting
- Receive and have time to explore a ‘Toolkit’ to help you with the above
