Following on from the Networking Meeting, 9 funding applications were submitted to YHFF. On 14th Nov 2018 a Grants Panel, facilitated by YHFF, was convened to review the 9 applications. Of the 9, 7 schools were awarded the Grants funding with 2 applications needing further development.
The second H&F Supplementary Schools Forum on 25th October, hosted by YHFF in collaboration with NRCSE was a well-attended event with up to 11 supplementary schools being represented by senior staff and tutors.
This was a practical evening which took attendees through the process of completing the YHFF funding application for John Lyon’s funding by exploring what information funders are looking for and how do schools monitor the progress of their students.
There was an interactive presentation from NRCSE looking at the types of evidence schools can provide to demonstrate the strength of their provision when working towards achieving the NRCSE Quality Mark.
Participants were also invited to share their experiences of supplementary education and to discuss what future agenda items or guest speakers would be beneficial to the forum. NRCSE have been asked to deliver a Refresher Training on the topics of Safeguarding, Classroom Behaviour Management and working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
The next meeting is scheduled for January 2019
