Consortium schools funded by John Lyon’s Charity have been given tablets and cloud-based monitoring & evaluation software to help them demonstrate the impact they are having on children’s learning and wellbeing.
Tonight and next Thursday, 27 schools will be receiving training from Tobias Trombik, Upshot consultant at the Football Foundation. At the end of an intensive three-hour session they should leave equipped to use these tablets to enter information including targets, performance assessment, attendance data for the children learning maths and English as part of their out-of-school educational offer funded by John Lyon’s Charity.
The data can be anonymised and sent to funders, it can be compared with data from the Office of National Statistics ONS to evidence where the children are living and provide proof that funders money is being spent to support children whose parentsĀ could not afford to send them to private tuition. You can find out more by going to the UpShot website.
This is just the beginning of the project, we will be keeping you updated about how the schools get on with the software but already participants are saying – ‘I can really see how this is going to help us with all our fundraising, and all our monitoring. It’s great!’
