Upcoming offers:
Book now to attend a free teacher and volunteer training day on Sunday 11th October 2015.
Aims of the training:
- Introduce supplementary school teachers and volunteers to the collections at the Museum of London; inspired by the theme of the upcoming Activity Weekend event ‘Sounds of the City’.
- Take part in a range of object handling activities and interactive gallery learning techniques to understand how the museum’s collections can be used with your students
- Gain a practical understanding of the layout of the museum to make the most of future visits
- Learn more about existing schools resources that can be adapted and used to support your curriculum
This training day will be particularly useful for teachers looking to plan their visit to the museum for the Supplementary Schools and Families Activity Weekend event in November.
If you would like to book a place onto this training day please contact etaylor@museumoflondon.org.uk by Monday 14th September and I will be able to send through more information.
Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A maximum of 2 places will be allocated per school.
Reminders:
The first Supplementary Schools and Families Weekend, Sounds of the City, will take place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November 2015. Save the dates! Invitations for this event will be sent out during the first week of September.
As part of this event, I will be working with a group of supplementary school students (aged between 11-19) to create a performance/activity to be showcased during the event. There has been lots of interest but there are still some places available, so if you think your students would like to be involved please email etaylor@museumoflondon.org.uk for more information.
