The British Museum and Roundhouse creative arts venue in Camden are working together to offer a unique series of 2 free filmmaking workshops for Supplementary School students aged 15-19. Roundhouse lead a lot of innovative and engaging projects with young people and have offered to lead 2 workshops for Supplementary School students to learn the basic skills in filmmaking. Young people will have the opportunity to work with a professional broadcasting team to create their own short documentary inspired by the British Museum’s world collections. This is a wonderful opportunity for creative and motivated young people to work alongside industry professionals to learn new skills and gain new experiences.
Details:
Day 1: Sunday 22nd March 11:00-16:00
At the British Museum, Camden
- Learn the basics of working with filming equipment
- Learn how to make short documentaries
- Use the British Museum’s permanent collections to inspire you
Day 2: Sunday 29th March 11:00-16:00
At Roundhouse, Camden
- Visit the Roundhouse studios, and edit your short film
- Learn about what other volunteering opportunities are open to young people
There are a maximum of 12 places available for this series of workshops and I can book a maximum of 6 places per supplementary school. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
If you think your students would like to take part in this opportunity please contact me by Monday 9th March to register your interest. I will then send you a booking form and once that has been completed I will confirm their booking.
Any young person taking part in the workshops will need to be committed and be available for both workshops because one feeds on from the other.
