What did the Romans use as money? Key stage 2

May 6, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Students, staff and parents are invited to a special session at The British Museum for Supplementary Schools on Sunday 6th May 2018

By handling real items in the collection and exploring the Citi Money Gallery, students will have the opportunity to understand the development of money in Roman Britain up to the present day and its role in society around the world. These teacher led sessions will also introduce aspects of maths through financial education and strategies to our lives.

If you would like to attend with your school, please contact Alice Ruby Ross aross@britishmuseum.org to book your place. Places are limited and on a first come, first serve basis so please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to book places for your students to attend.

The teachers have some flexibility with the content of the session as we appreciate that many schools have a wide age range, but please note that the session is focused on key stage 2 learning.

The session will run from 11.30am – 1pm and you are welcome to bring packed lunch which can be eaten in the Ford centre afterwards. If you would like any advice on planning some afternoon activities in the museum and available resources please contact Alice Ruby Ross aross@britishmuseum.org 020 7323 8972
