Quality assurance for supplementary schools
NRCSE offers a range of modular accredited training for management and teaching staff in the supplementary education sector. These include: Effective Management Skills (3 credits), Teaching in Supplementary Schools (6 credits), Teaching a Language (6 credits), Maintaining a Safe Environment (1 credit), Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs (2 credits), Teaching in Islamic Supplementary Schools (2 credits). Several of these courses can be combined to achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Teaching in the Supplementary Education Sector (QCF 601/5835/9). This train-the-trainer course is for trainers who have already completed training to deliver our Teaching Skills course and have an interest and experience of teaching a language (including English as an additional or foreign language). It will give you an overview of our new course and the knowledge to deliver the course in your locality and/or to be commissioned by NRCSE.
The ‘Teaching a language in a supplementary school’ course is designed to follow on from our highly popular ‘Teaching skills in supplementary schools’ course and concentrates specifically on lnguage-teaching, eg. Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Polish, etc. but also applies to those teaching English as an additional language. The course helps in adapting and making teaching resources and creating a scheme of work or syllabus.
