Quality assurance for supplementary schools
Online version of our acclaimed Effective Teaching in Supplementary Schools, using Google Classroom and Zoom
Each week learners have a 2hr tutorial (tutorial sessions run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings to accommodate all learners), during the week they complete practical research and preparatory tasks to enable them to get the most from the tutorial and share with their peers. At the end of each tutorial an assessment task on that week’s topic is set and learners have 5 days to complete and return using their preparatory tasks, tutor feedback and information shared between learners in the tutorial sessions.
‘Even in the current circumstances where the training had to be adapted for online lessons in such a short period of time, it was very well designed and covered all the necessary information’
‘All the information provided in the course was extremely useful and can be used at our school. The lesson plan model lesson was very effective and easy to use. All the information about specifics roles at supplementary school were very important and clearly given’

‘I found all aspects of the training very useful. The separate rooms in groups gave us a chance to discuss different ideas and strategies. We were able to discuss the video observations and compare ideas. The various hand-outs and PowerPoint slides were comprehensive and clear and I could compare my skills to the information provided. Angela delivered the course very clearly and found all the information she provided useful in all aspects.’
