Milton Keynes SEND course – Day 2

This two-day training course for supplementary schools in Milton Keynes explores the challenges and rewards of teaching children with special educational needs (SEN).

The first session will cover:

•     Definitions and categories of SEN
•     SEN arrangements in mainstream schools
•     Specific conditions including: dyslexia, autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)

Second session on 24 February 2017 will cover:

•     Procedures for working with children with SEN
•     Support strategies and resources

The course is designed to support staff interested in completing the SEN unit of the NRCSE Effective Teaching Skills in Supplementary Schools qualification. A half day follow-up session is required for delegates wishing to complete the qualification.
