You are warmly invited to the HoLA and Languages Sheffield Celebration Event taking place from 11.00 – 4 pm on Sunday 12th November.
The event will take place in the Owen Building of Sheffield Hallam University. At this event we want to celebrate the work of the award winning HoLA Project over the past six years. This is also an opportunity to celebrate the work of Complementary Schools and to share successes.
From 11.00-1.00 pm there will be an opportunity to look at the winning artwork and poetry from our Heritage Language Competition, there will also be stalls and some craft activities to take part in offered by different communities. Lunch will also be provided during this session.
The ceremony itself will take place between 1.00-4.00 pm. We will award certificates to the winners of the Heritage Language Artwork and Poetry Competitions and celebrate the work of the young people who have successfully completed their Level 1 Young Interpreters course and also the work of those young people who have completed their ASDAN portfolios. We will screen the films made by young people from the Kurdish, Congolese and Eritrean communities. There will also be performances by young people from different linguistic and cultural communities.
