Quality assurance for supplementary schools
This training has been cancelled due to insufficient bookings
If you have booked on to this course or are interested in taking First Aid training please check the British Red Cross website as there are opportunities to join existing courses in your area.
If your insurance is with Morton Michel you are automatically part of the Childcare Club and benefit from discounts on Red Cross training so let them know when you book.
Every supplementary school must have a trained first aider. It is also a requirement of the Quality Framework Award. Many of you have a staff member (paid or volunteer) who has trained as part of their main job and that is fine. For others you have have been able to access training through your local authority, excellent.
For those supplementary schools that don’t have a trained first aider regularly on site we have arranged this one-day training on Emergency First Aid. The course is aimed at emergencies concerning adults and children above the age of 8-10 years old (depends on hight/weight). If you have classes with 0-8 year olds you should have at least one staff member trained in paediatric first aid.
The course will cover the following responsiblities:
There are 12 places only on this course to ensure that you all get to practice CPR techniques, etc. It is also an expensive course to buy in so the discounted cost for NRCSE members is £75 pp. Please go to the online shop to book as soon as you know you want a place.
