Quality assurance for supplementary schools
Many communities have very rich traditions of story telling for instance, which are a fundamental resource for teaching language.
We are proud to present Alex Pascall, a media personality with vast experience. Many of you will remember him with his Radio London program, Black Londoners.
Alex will talk about his experiences of working with schools.
Shabita Shamsad, our second speaker, a teacher at the Central Foundation Girls School, will talk about a project she initiated with her students.
‘Telling Stories through Needle and Thread’ was among the Goldsmiths University Digital Story-telling Project, Critical Connections.
Ertanch Hidayettin and Claud Steven, will speak of their own experiences of good practice both from a personal perspective and through the excellent work they have observed as staff at NRCSE.
Supplementary schools will have an opportunity to highlight and share their own interesting practices in creative language teaching.
The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the tremendous achievement of the 45 teachers from supplementary schools in the John Lyon’s Charity area who have completed nationally accredited courses in 2016/17.
