Supporting children with SEND in supplementary school
Second training session for Northamptonshire supplementary schools explores the challenges and rewards of teaching children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Full course will cover:
- Definitions and categories of SEND
- SEND arrangements in mainstream schools
- Specific conditions including: dyslexia, autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Procedures for working with children with SEND
- Support strategies and resources
The course is designed to support staff interested in completing the SEND unit of the NRCSE Effective Teaching Skills in Supplementary Schools qualification. A half day follow-up session is required for delegates wishing to complete the qualification.
