As we promised, we have exciting opportunities coming up in Autumn, so please save the dates and do get involved!!
Supplementary Schools Programme – Upcoming activity in September and October 2015
1. Sunday, 20 September 2015
Community Preview Celts
This will be the first major exhibition of Celtic art in Britain in 40 years. We would love you to join us at our next Community Preview to explore the long history of Celtic art and find out what the actual objects tell us about the people who made and used them. An invitation to this preview will be sent in August.
2. Sunday, 25 October 2015
Community Preview One God: Three religions on the Nile
The exhibition focuses on Egypt from the 1st to the early 12th century AD. We would love you to join us at our preview and explore the broad pattern of the emergence of the main faiths in Egypt after the well-known age of the pharaohs. An invitation to this preview will be sent in September.
3. Youth Volunteers Pilot Programme
We will offer a volunteer opportunity for young people (ages 14-24) at our upcoming community preview events. Young people are invited to participate in training workshops (for a total of 12 volunteer hours) to get to know the museum, its collections and what a community preview is about. An invitation to the first programme that we will run in September will be sent by mid-July.
I will be in touch with you all soon about all upcoming offers and I hope that we will be able to continue working together in the future and spreading the message about the wonderful work supplementary schools are doing around the country and how the museum can support your work.
If you have any questions or just want to hear more what we have on offer for Supplementary Schools please just send me an email or give me a call.
With very best wishes for a lovely summer to all,
