Some of the issues to be discussed are detailed below. I will be attending to facilitate reflection the views of community-based supplementary schools addressing the following theme: Diversity and multilingualism – meeting the needs of the multilingual classroom. To draw together key stakeholders including policy makers, practitioners, academics, and representatives from key organisations, in order to:
- Examine the issues faced by primary providers in delivering an effective primary languages curriculum
- Share and shape priorities for future development
- Produce a White Paper proposing key recommendations to inform a non-statutory implementation strategy for primary languages, to be shared with policy makers and other stakeholders to support current curriculum policy reform
To establish meaningful partnerships involving a range of stakeholders e.g.:
- Formation of RiPL expert adviser/stakeholder partner sub-committee, with representation from each invited/attending partner;
- Intervention studies;
- Public engagement and cooperation e.g. network meetings/road-shows
