Quality assurance for supplementary schools
Support for the Special Distinction Award is offered as a combination of self-evaluation, group sessions with other schools at a similar level and one-to-one meetings and site visits from a higher level mentor.
In some areas the local authority may fund this but in others the mentors will be engaged directly by the supplementary schools themselves; the cost will be in the region of £150 registration and £1,250 mentor support/group sessions. We are happy to provide suggestions and letters of support to schools that wish to seek funding to complete any of the higher levels of the Quality Framework including the Special Distinction.
