More quality assurance support for supplementary schools
Staff from Haringey and Tower Hamlets councils and voluntary sector providers in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Northampton have trained to support supplementary schools.
Eight staff from five authorities completed the second day of training yesterday to become registered Quality Assurance Mentors. There are now 55 mentors available across England. Check out our mentor map to find one that can help you!
‘Resource for London is a great training environment and the NRCSE trainers are very considerate to the needs of their trainees! Will happily come back to learn more.’
‘I feel more confident working with the supplementary schools in Haringey and supporting them – thank you.’
‘Pascale has an excellent understanding of the supplementary school sector.’
‘Thanks so much! It was extremely helpful and I look forward to supporting supplementary schools.’
Newly reformed CVS, SOBUS, sent four members of staff to develop and strengthen the support they are able to give the many supplementary schools in the borough. Shad Haibatan, Head of Organisational Development, was instrumental in the creation of a national resource for supplementary schools many years ago and we are delighted that with the support of John Lyon’s Charity, SOBUS is renewing its commitment to working within this sector. SOBUS has been created through the merger of Community and Voluntary Sector Association Hammersmith & Fulham (CaVSA) and the Fulham Community Partnership Trust (FCPT).
We’re always looking for new mentors so please get in touch if you would be interested. You can also find out more about the NRCSE Quality Mark and how it helps supplementary schools develop a safe and effective learning environment on our quality assurance pages.
