NRCSE Quality Mark: promoting best practice

We are keen to talk to local authorities and funders that would like to join all those already working with NRCSE to encourage quality assurance in supplementary education. Contact the Quality Assurance Manager QDA@nrcse.org.uk or call 020 7697 4055 to discuss further.

Supplementary/complementary schools, Saturday and homework clubs, tutoring provision, faith-based-education, just need to subscribe to get started on the path to quality assurance.

NRCSE will train and support local authority staff, whatever their role, to use the quality assurance framework as a tool to promote good governance, safe practice and partnership. Your requirements are built in to each supplementary school’s Management File as school staff, volunteers and management committee members work are supported to adopted and implement safe practice in line with your Section 11 duties.

Staff and volunteers will be fully trained and supported, and will work with our quality development advisers to ensure standardised assessment and to arrange Quality Mark recognition meetings if desired.

‘I believe I am making a difference in the lives of others, empowering third sector leaders to achieve their schools’ full potential and think in a more business-like way.’  Karen Gardiner, Quality Assurance Mentor

Watch this short video clip from our volunteer mentors in Liverpool who have been supporting schools to develop best practice in management, school leadership, teaching and learning practices and partnership with statutory agencies.

There are 65 trained NRCSE Mentors across England able to work with schools – but we’re always looking for more!

Teachers, academics, retired educationalists… If you have a background in education and would like to become a voluntary mentor for supplementary schools in your area, please see below to complete a mentor application form, and find out more about our training. We would love to have you and we’re sure you would find mentoring supplementary schools a fascinating experience.
