Session 3 : Effective Teaching Skills in Supplementary Schools.

Course Summary: Learn more about teaching methodology: including lesson planning, behaviour management, child welfare, differentiation techniques, monitoring and performance assessment. Receive a nationally recognised OCN level 2 or 3 award.

Course overview: Gain knowledge of the English education system and how supplementary schools contribute to child development. Find out about the role and responsibility of teachers. Learn how to plan an effective lesson and how to use resources to enhance learning. Understand the different ways in which we all learn and gain new strategies to support learners. Know how to evaluate your own teaching and understand the teaching/training cycle.

Who should attend? This course has been primarily booked for supplementary schools in the London boroughs of Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham who are subsidised by John Lyon’s Charity. However supplementary schools from Brent, Camden, Barnet and Westminster may also apply.

Numbers: This course can facilitate a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 15 learners. Refreshments will be provided by NRCSE.

Book and make payment: The full cost for the Effective Teaching Skills course is £370 per learner. We are able to subsidise the cost with John Lyon’s Charity funds so we are asking for a contribution of only £75 per learner. This includes: course and student registration fee; tutor fee; assessment; international moderation; management and administration; Learners file and Resource file for each learner. Book your place.
